AHHHHHH! We had fun.

Yep, that’s us. Screamin’ through the tunnel at Kiddieland. It was a very splendid evening. It’s hard to say what my favorite ride was, but the Polyp was not it. See Ken’s photo gallery to see pictures of the Polyp and all of the other vintage rides. No one melted down. The most timid [...]

Land of tornadoes and tantrums

May 28th, 2004 · Comments Off

My friend Jen just informed me last night that the midwest is the only geographical area in the world that gets tornadoes. Other regions get water spouts, dust devils, and whirlwinds. But we get the kick ass tornado. I figure, if you are in India or on a boat in Florida when a whirling [...]

Kinesthetic kids!

May 23rd, 2004 · 2 Comments

Lately, I’ve been reading my obligatory books on education, along with fiction. I’ve been obsessed with learning more about education ever since I was in my late 20’s and started getting interested in being a teacher. Another bookish day, but for the fairy photography

May 20th, 2004 · 6 Comments

I dragged my kids to the park across the street today. I’ve seen a lot of crazy stuff go down in this park. But today the craziest thing was going to be that we’d take our books out there and read alot, then run around some. Then I’d write while they ran around some [...]

Girl Scouts for Grubs

May 18th, 2004 · 5 Comments

Look closely at what the boy is clutching so proudly. It’s a giant white grub. He spent the day with girl scouts, planting things as a thank you, then watching girls build rainbow bridges and make circles and sing about friendship. Give him at least one gross grub for his patience.
Maybe I’ll put the copious [...]

Blog creator and nature boy, Ken.
We went geocaching this weekend, without finding the treasure. See geocaching.com for details. It’s a good excuse to discover new areas to explore.
If you are a family member reading this blog, and it’s your first blog, chances are you may wonder what the point of a blog is. [...]
