So many awards. So little time to whip a new award out of my own brain and make a cute button so I can feel the power. Oh wait, this is a circular award thingy! I can just pick my own thinking bloggers. Yes. Power at last! Now is really the pinnacle of my blogging career where stepping down would be wisest. Then you could all always picture me in my glory, casually tossing kudos, rather than my last post being me weeping bitterly about some lost election or my children’s unwillingness to put on a jacket in 37 degree weather.
Thanks to Samuel and Doc for their award to me. Truth be told, it makes me want to think even harder when I blog. Instead of rambling on like this. But thanks. For. The. Pressure. Psych! Secretly, I am content and can hack the call to higher blog thoughts that having set the bar higher has created. Oh, damn us underachievers! We are so screwed up.
Okay, onward
Although he probably scorns awards, and maybe has 35 of these already, I award the Zero Boss a thinking blogger award. He has the singular ability to scour the web for news and extract the bullshit for me and me alone. Making it more palatable and much funnier, allowing my brain to jump straight to the ironic or hypocritical bits. Illustrating all that is wrong or right with mankind. Plus, he’s got manbutt in his sidebar.
I bestow another thinking blogger award to my namesake Kimmi over at Shimmer Glimpse for her stunning self-portraits and beautiful arts and crafts which always make me ponder life. True, her last two self-portraits involve turning her eyelids inside out and seeing what her hair looks like from behind, but that just illustrates that she’s not all high and mighty about her talents. She can have fun too. Mostly, it is her dedication to a lifestyle which reflects her philosophy that she illustrates every day and which I admire. Because I’m a big ol’ hypocrite most of the time.
In the thinking blogger classic homeschooler department, I bestow the award to Poppins Classical Academy. Somehow Poppins manages to get frustrated, instruct, freak out, learn from it all, create new and unexpected things and give us all some insight on a regular basis, and usually all in one blogpost. It is a very thoughtful ride and almost always hysterically funny and clever.
Just the title of Life’s Cutting Room Floor indicates a deep thinker, one who is willing to pick up the scraps and go with it. What you may not know about this man is that he and his wife are big dorks, good friends of ours and players of RPGs. But wait, before you refuse to click there, let me say they are also the smartest couple I know, funny, irreverent, insightful, and Aaron’s got long hair and good looks that kind of belie dorkability.
For my 5th award, I am starting to freak out just a bit about all of the other blogs I read, you know the ones I visit every day, comment on, the ones on my blogroll. I am thinking that if this were five wishes from a genie I’d wish for 10 more wishes. Or in this case, ten more thinking blogger spots to hand out, That is what Doc did, just signed up her blogroll. Hey, it didn’t bother me none. So, if you are a blogger anywhere in my sidebar, you know I consider you a thinking blogger and please do pass on the honor to any or all that you have the time to recognize. Surely you understand that my kids are whining and the doorbell is ringing, as is the phone, and I am out of morning blogtime mojo so I need to cast a wider net?

Wow.
Actually, I cut my hair a long time ago.
That’s me on the background, flipping off the world (in my baldness–which I shaved just for a live game…which is really dorky).
Thanks for the kudo!!!!

PS-I didn’t come up with the name of my blog; the title and the whole thing was set up by my good bud and LJ user EssentialSaltes (he did it as a birthday gift to stop me from “blog pirating”, that is, writing long comments on other people’s blogs…he got me my own soap box, in other words.)

Funny, that is the same reason Ken set me up with a blog. I scoffed at the idea of blogging but was so in to other peoples’ that he just went ahead and designed one for me.

Kim, you just made my day. I spent all of yesterday in agony with a toothache. The entire day way quite surreal and pinaacled with nirous oxide and heavy pain meds. Today I feel groggy and weepy and and flattered too
As far as the thinker award goes, right back at ya. Your blog is my #1 favorite inner net blog
I too aspire to put a little more thinking in my blog but , alas, almost all of my blogging right now comes form stolen moments. Soon though…too soon, our little ones won’t be little and we’ll have time to edit and make drafts of blog entries, nap, trim toenails and maybe even experience boredom again: )
Thanks and look for some existential prosey waxings about teeth, agony and love soon on Shimmer.Glimpse.
