Inspired by the Top Chef show being here in Chicago, I set us forth a cooking challenge similar to one of theirs. We went to the winter farmer’s market today and picked out 5 ingredients we can make dinner out of, not including the use of spice and oils. I tried encouraging my other homeschooling moms who also attended but I’m not sure if they bit. I know one thing, they’re having a Sunday feast over at Andrea’s house as usual.

Here’s my five ingredients:

apples

baby bella mushrooms

tilapia

lettuce

honey

There are a few beauty products in this shot too. Anywho, I am about to rise to the challenge in an hour or so, after I finish reading the Chicago book club book The Long Goodbye by Raymond Chandler. I’ll be sure to let you know how the meal tastes and maybe I’ll take a picture.

Okay, here goes, marinated and grilled tilapia (Mail prefers to call it telepathy) with Waldorf salad and marinated mushroom shish kebabs. Yum.

Well, it’s a little less a feast with half the family not around. :D

But we had fluffy mashed potatoes, real buttered peas and ham.

I couldn’t decide which was more drool-worthy. The barbeque or the fact that you guys can barbeque outside without a coat.

Mmmm, I loooove to cook and I am totally into seeing what other folks eat. It helps me get out of food ruts. That fish looks damn fine!
