Time to start charging rent money

Day 4 of twisted xnishmas.

Okay, what better symbol of hope than the hearty evergreen bedecked with cherished heirlooms twinkling by your toasty hearth? A promise of spring to come? A cheerful bob of green to help you through the long dark month? A place for family to gather round? Or, alternately, a deadly weapon for your ungrateful child to wing at you when you let your gaurd down? You decide.

This all could have been avoided if only they had followed our family tradition, imported from the old country, of waiting until Christmas Eve to put up and decorate the tree.
He was probably annoyed the tree would get stale, droopy old an commonplace by the time Christmas actually arrived.
In any case, I agree with you, that under the circumstances, charging rent might be a prudent idea. And perhaps taking out a special insurance policy…

Hey Justyna, when I grew up we only put up the tree the night before too. We’ve since transitioned to setting up the tree on December 5th St Nicholas day and taking it down on 12th night.
