Let’s be honest, shall we? You don’t really need to know too much about me. The more you know, the more your judgement will be clouded by love and awe. It is better if you just view my work for what it is and try not to dwell on my tawdry mid-80’s affair with Keanu Reeves, or focus on my sordid break up with the Ramones in a parking lot in Trenton at 3am. I mean, the more you know, the more you’d be impressed that I can still even write a sentence. Even if they do tend to run on and focus on my theory that the universe is all just one big pinball machine.
Nevertheless, here are some facts you can be sure of in regards to me:
- I never really was in a famous band.
- I had a pony once.
- I only ever pretended to like legwarmers, but mostly I scoffed.
- I wanted to be Evil Knieval.
- I have another blog and it is much more informative. It is called Chicago Homeschool Habitat.
Nowadays, I mostly want to laugh and honestly explore what it means to be a homeschooling parent. I love feedback and have made many good friends via this venue… which is sort of creepy sounding but true nonetheless. All people, homeschooling and otherwise please feel welcome.

> I wanted to be Evil Knieval.
You spelled His name wrong. And you’ve never ridden a motorcycle, that would be a good place to start. You can delete this after you correct your spelling error.

Also under the comment form it says “Please not: Comments may be…” I don’t think that’s part of your “German” deal.

Obviously, you overestimate my ability to control word press. I think the German bit was random and although I think it is funny I doubt I am going to go in and translate bits to make it more consistent.
Secondly, I don’t believe I’ve ever been Madame Spell Checky over at your blog. And I have ridden a motorcycle. My dad had a brief fling with the dark side and I rode on the back from age 4 until 6 when I suddenly received a Kawasaki 50. In later years, my cousins and I spent hours at the toxic dump behind our house riding dirtbikes down the dunes. So, when I say I wanted to be Evel Knievel, I mean I was in training for quite awhile. That doesn’t mean I’m not afraid to ride a scooter today though. Due to spazzy motor abilities, I have always had problems releasing a hand clutch slowly so I look like a dork.

My name is Kris Zillo and I am the Communications Director for YoChicago.com. I recently ran across your blog and wanted to get in touch with you.
Our web site was launched in February and it is devoted to neighborhoods and housing in the Chicago area. We focus on all aspects of neighborhoods - from restaurants and shopping to housing and development. As we continue to build content we are looking for bloggers who would like to write for our site. We don’t pay, but we don’t give you any assignments. You write when you want, about what you want. After looking at your blog and your writing style - I think you would be a great fit.

Hi Kim - Just a note to say that I appreciated your review and was looking at your site to see how it looked. As I said, it is an invigorating read. And your blog, like many, turns out to be very readable ….too readable…I need to get back to my “barneyesque” characters (ouch). BTW - in a previous life, I developed games (i’e gone platinum) and, while compass’ stuff is good, I do intend to help put together education at some time thats …. more invigorating in the future. thanks again.

Hey Kim could you let Ken know we have practice tonight? Rob hates it when we’re late, and tell him he has to know how to play “Japanese Girls” or there’ll be hell to pay. Also I’m going to England at the end of May so I’ll need a ride to the airport, Thanks.

That’s the strangest group of comments on an ‘About Me’ post I’ve ever read!

Thanks Piscesgrrl,
I’ve been rather secretly proud of these About Me comments over the years for their total weirdness factor.
